Club SA Early Bird Winners
A big thank you to all our wonderful Clubs who have already renewed their Membership for 2020.
We are pleased to announce the Winners of this year’s Early Bird Draw are:
Beaumont Bowling Club
Millicent Golf Club
Nildottie Progress & Soldiers Memorial Association
Congratulations to these Clubs who will receive a great prize of beer valued at $400, courtesy of our fantastic Partners Lion, Coopers and CUB.
Beaumont Bowling Club was the first Winner to take delivery of its prize.
We had a great reception on arriving with the beer with a lot of activity on the rinks and in the clubhouse.
The Club was formed on 1956 and is currently enjoying a growth in membership. The committee set about making the club a fantastic facility for the local community, not just a bowling club. Their hard work has paid off and there is now something happening there every day of the week. This includes Bridge once a week when 250 people attend, a Church group on Sundays, Night Owls and much more. Throughout the Winter months, there is social bowls and meals are offered to entice even more to attend.
The Club has recently undergone a refurbishment and is looking very well for it. This was achieved through grants, the assistance of Burnside Council and fundraising events such a raffles and quiz nights.
President, Leonie was proud to tell us that it was only 5 years ago that the club started a ladies side. The number of participants has already grown enough for the club to now have 2 sides and with 32 ladies involved, it won’t be long before there is a third! As you can see from the photo, they were all very happy to be there.
Bar Manager, John said that the prize will be a huge benefit to them and they will use it for both selling over the bar and as raffle prizes. He said, “We have been highly supported by Clubs SA over the years and winning this prize is a great bonus”.
We look forward to hearing more about how Beaumont Bowling Club grows over the next few years.
